Relocation in Baku for expats
Moving to a country whose language you do not read yet is mostly a problem of not knowing what you do not know.
Expat moves are rarely difficult in the physical sense. They are difficult because the person organising them is doing it in an unfamiliar country, on a work schedule they do not control, often to a flat they have only seen in photographs, and with a customs system nobody has explained.
What that translates into practically is: someone who answers in English, tells you the realistic date rather than the encouraging one, and says plainly which of your options is the sensible one — including when the sensible option is cheaper than the one you asked about.
We work in English, Russian and Azerbaijani, and both directions are ordinary work for us: arrivals into Baku for people starting a posting, and departures for those moving on to Turkey, Georgia, the UAE, Europe and further.
Arriving in Baku
Delivery, unpacking, placement
Your shipment cleared, delivered, unpacked, furniture assembled and everything in place — rather than a stack of boxes in an empty flat on your first evening.
Customs on the way in
Imported household goods have their own procedure and their own paperwork. We handle the Azerbaijani side and tell you what is needed from you before it becomes urgent.
Storage while you are still looking
Very common: the posting starts before the flat is found. Belongings go into our heated, guarded warehouse with an inventory, and come out when you have keys.

Air for the urgent fraction, road for Turkey, Georgia and the region, sea or rail for further and larger. We tell you the honest cost and date for each rather than steering you to one.
Packing and inventory to international standard
Numbered inventory, photographs where they matter, packing built for the mode. Customs inspections go quickly when the paperwork already answers the questions.

Every destination restricts something, and the lists are not intuitive. We check yours before packing rather than at the border.
Frequent questions
Do you work in English?
Yes. Managers and crew leaders work in English, Russian and Azerbaijani, and the contract is available in English.
I have not found a flat in Baku yet. What do I do with my things?
Put them in storage — this is the single most common expat situation. Our own warehouse in Baku is heated, climate-controlled and guarded, everything is inventoried on the way in, and delivery to your address is arranged once you have keys.
Can you move pets or plants?
Those travel under different rules from furniture and often need documents and health certificates arranged well in advance. Tell us early and we will explain what your destination requires; we would rather say so months ahead than a week before.
How far ahead should I start organising?
Four to six weeks for an international move is comfortable; two is possible but tight, and the pressure lands on the customs paperwork rather than on the packing. A survey costs nothing, so an early conversation is worth having even if the date is not fixed.
