Moving within Baku
Twelve districts, three kinds of building stock and a great many stairwells a wardrobe will not turn in. We plan around that before moving day, not on it.
Baku is not one city to move in. The Soviet blocks of Nizami and Binagadi, the pre-revolutionary buildings of Sabail, and the glass towers along the bay each break a move in their own way, and the crew that copes with all three is the one that knew which it was walking into.
That is the whole argument for a survey. It costs nothing and takes twenty minutes, and it is where we find out that the lift stops half a floor below the landing, that the courtyard gate is too narrow for a three-tonne van, or that the building only allows moves before six in the evening. Every one of those has, at some point, turned somebody else's one-day move into two.
We move flats, private houses, offices and single rooms anywhere inside the city, including the settlements — Lokbatan, Bilgah, Mardakan, Buzovna — that are administratively Baku but an hour's drive from the centre.
What each part of the city does to a move
Not a list of districts for the sake of a list — these are the four situations that actually change the plan.
The old centre — Sabail, Icherisheher, around Torgovaya
Beautiful buildings, brutal logistics. Narrow spiral stairwells, no lift, ceilings high enough that wardrobes are tall, and streets where a van cannot legally stop for long. Furniture usually comes apart here whether or not it would elsewhere, and we plan the loading window around the traffic rather than the other way round.
The Soviet stock — Nizami, Binagadi, Surakhani, Sabunchu
Predictable layouts, which helps, and passenger lifts that a sofa does not fit into, which does not. Most of the work is stairs. What decides the day here is the floor and the crew size, and both are settled at the survey.
The new complexes — Khatai, Yasamal, Port Baku, White City
Service lifts that take everything, and management companies that want the move booked in advance, the crew named on a pass list and the lift reserved for a slot. Arrive without that and you wait in the lobby. We handle the paperwork with the building before the date is confirmed.
Private houses and the settlements
Access is usually easy and the volume is usually larger — garages, garden furniture, workshops, things nobody remembers owning until the day. Drive time to Lokbatan or Buzovna is real time, and it belongs in the plan honestly rather than as an optimistic hour.
How a move inside Baku runs
Survey and clear estimate
Free, at your address, or by video on WhatsApp for a standard flat. What comes out of it is the estimated cost, the crew, the vehicle and the timings — and any later scope change is discussed before work is added.
Building access sorted in advance
Lift booking, passes, entry hours, where the van will stand. This is the part that goes wrong when a move is improvised, and it is settled days ahead.
Packing, disassembly, transport
Materials are ours. Fragile items packed separately, furniture taken apart where the doorways demand it, every box labelled with the room at the new address.
Assembly and placement
Furniture reassembled, shelves and mirrors hung, appliances reconnected, empty boxes taken away. You get rooms, not a warehouse.
Frequent questions
How much does a move within Baku cost?
It depends on volume, floor, whether there is a service lift and what else you take — packing, disassembly, storage. That is why the survey is free: it lets us prepare a written estimate for the actual scope. If the volume, route or requested work changes, we explain any updated estimate before proceeding.
Do you work in the settlements outside the centre?
Yes — Lokbatan, Bilgah, Mardakan, Buzovna, Novkhani and the rest. Our own warehouse is in Lokbatan, so the Garadagh direction is daily work for us rather than an out-of-town trip.
What if my building requires a pass for the crew?
Most of the newer complexes do. Tell us at the survey and we prepare the list and book the service lift with the management company. It takes a couple of days, which is exactly why the date is agreed in advance.
Can you move on a weekend or in the evening?
Yes, and for offices it is the norm. For flats, weekends are the busiest slots — book about a week ahead at the end of the month, when everybody's lease turns over at once.
