Sumqayit is Azerbaijan's third city and, for moving purposes, the far end of a very busy corridor. People move to Baku for work and back to Sumqayit for space, and both directions run along the same road, which is the road that decides how long the day takes.
The distance is not the difficulty — the timing is. Leave the loading too late and the return leg lands in Baku's evening traffic, which turns a comfortable single-day move into an unloading that finishes after dark. We load early for a reason.
Within Sumqayit itself the building stock is mostly mid-rise Soviet blocks and newer builds along the seafront: stairs in the former, lift booking in the latter, and the same survey answers both.

The people who pack and load in Sumqayit are the people who unload and assemble in Baku. No handover in the middle, which is where things get lost and nobody is responsible.

Thirty-five kilometres is forty minutes on an empty road and considerably more at the wrong hour. Loading early is what keeps the unloading in daylight.
One vehicle where it fits
Most flats go in a single load. Two trips double the road time, so getting the vehicle size right at the survey matters more here than it does for a move across one district.
Storage in between if the dates do not meet
Our warehouse is in Lokbatan, on the Baku side. When the new place is not ready, belongings go there rather than into somebody's garage for a fortnight.

Frequent questions
How long does a move from Sumqayit to Baku take?
Usually one working day for a two-room flat, including packing. Three rooms and up often split into two days: packing on the first, transport and placement on the second. The road itself is the smallest part of it.
Is it more expensive than a move inside Baku?
Somewhat, because of the road time — but much less than people expect, and if it fits one vehicle load the difference is small. The survey gives the exact figure.
Do you move within Sumqayit itself?
Yes, exactly as within Baku: survey, written estimate, packing, movers, transport and assembly.
Can you store things between two dates?
Yes, in our own heated and guarded warehouse in Lokbatan. Minimum term is a month; for shorter gaps it is usually cheaper to handle it inside the move, and we will say so.
